Sometimes a parent or non-parent has concerns for the well-being of a child in instances of abuse, neglect, endangerment or abandonment.  Other times, parents are in agreement that the best interests of their child includes granting certain rights to other parties to care for their child for temporary or permanent durations.

Guardianships

Adoptions

Unlike guardianships, adoptions require the termination of parental rights for any known parent.  Adoptions permanently create rights and responsibilities to the child or individual in question, and permanently remove the rights and responsibilities of a biological parent.  To understand whether adoption is right for you, call or email to schedule a consult.
