A Guardian ad Litem (or "GAL" for short) is an attorney appointed by the court to represent the best interests of an individual, normally an individual who is a minor child, or an individual who lacks competency or capacity to represent themselves. While most of my GAL work is contracted by counties in Wisconsin, I am available for private requests of appointment in probate matters, guardianship proceedings, and in certain counties, family, paternity, juvenile, CHIPS, and other matters.
As a Racine County GAL, I spend a lot of time in Racine County and am therefore available to take private family and guardianship cases for Racine and Kenosha counties.
